To register for the 2017 Alberta Champs events you have to make two decisions. We'll try to help!
CHOOSE YOUR RACES
Look over the list of races on the Schedule & Locations page, then look at those events' details under the Program drop-down menu.
PICK YOUR CLASS
You can choose to race in a championship age-class or you can choose an Open class (which allows you flexibility to pick the course length, difficulty and start time that suits you best). For full details visit the Classes page.
MEMBERSHIP
Before you register All participants must be members of a recognized orienteering club for insurance purposes. If necessary, purchase a membership online.
REGISTER
Once you've gathered all of your choices together, head over to the online registration page and sign up.

All ages are as of December 31, 2017
Juniors are 20 or under, Adults are 21+
Waivers
Participants will be required to sign and submit a waiver before their first race.

Making changes to your registration
It’s not a trivial matter to change your entries once they’ve been accepted. If you do need to make a change, email the registrar and we’ll sort out the best way to handle your request. Sorry, only minor changes after entries close and they will be accepted at the discretion of the organizers / on the availability of maps, start slots etc., and may incur an additional fee.
Refunds
Refunds will be made less a $25 charge for administration until August 31st. Refunds will be made less a $50 charge for administration until September 10th. No refunds are available after September 10th.
No refunds will be provided if the event cannot be held or is interrupted due to extreme weather or other emergency situations beyond the control of event organizers. We thank you for your understanding.

- Until August 31st >>> Regular rates

- Championship classes: A very few entries may be available after online registration closes, depending on start list vacancies. Allocation of these limited spots will be at the discretion of the organizers and will incur a premium fee. Contact the registrar by email or go to the Info desk at the event.
- Open classes: There will be a limited number of on-the-day entries available in the Open classes, depending on the number of spare maps prepared. Go to the Info desk at the event to register on the day.

We are able to accept on the day payments only with cash or cheques made out to Foothills Orienteering Club.
HPP discount
In order to show support to our national team athletes, the event organizers are offering members of Orienteering Canada's High Performance Program entry to all races and model maps at 50% off the regular price until August 31! Contact Marsha ([email protected]) to get the code.
SPORTident card rental
All races use electronic timing and everyone requires a SPORTident card (aka "SI stick", "SI card") to participate. If you don’t own an SI card, you can buy one from the o-store.ca. Alternatively rent one with your registration for $3 per event.
